Callas and Barrow

In an overlooked corner of my garden was an opportunity to apply the skills I was learning in my class at Golden Gate Atelier. I had been drawing a plaster Laocoon cast and learning how to control my values to convey the effect of light. The sunlit callas became my proxy for Laocoon's curls, and understanding the values of the torso's shadow helped me gauge the values of the cast shadow in the garden.
